So what is this?

With Wifarer on your smartphone you can easily find your way around big complex venues like universities, shopping malls, museums, airports, and convention centers in every major city in the world.

Wifarer is like GPS, but it works inside. When you open the app, an interactive map of the venue you’re currently in appears on your screen with a beacon representing your real-time location. As you move, the beacon moves too, so you always know exactly where you are.

Wifarer has an interactive directory that makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. At the airport, you can find your departure gate and check if your flight is on time. At the shopping center, you can find the closest shoe store and see which retailers are having sales. At the museum, you can find a particular sculpture or the closest espresso. At your university, you can find Seminar Room A, or see where exhibitors’ booths are located in a Trade Show.

Once you figure out where you want to go, tap “ take me there” and Wifarer draws you a path on the map between your current location and your selected destination. Just follow the path to get where you want to go quickly and easily, without getting lost.

Wifarer gives you multimedia information about nearby locations. Because Wifarer knows where you are, it only gives you content that is relevant to your immediate surroundings. At the museum, Wifarer senses where you are and provides you with context about the painting in front of you; this may include video of the artist at work or a few critical perspectives. At a trade show, Wifarer senses where you are and provides you with information about the exhibitor booth to your right; this may include the exhibitor’s product offerings, promotional video, press releases, or special promotions.

Oh, and you can access maps and content for most venues from wherever you happen to be, making it easy to plan your visit in advance or to return to highlights afterwards.
